Season 2 | Episode 1 | Chrissy Lax & Lora Perry Session 1
Chrissy Lax is a coach who is transitioning from a full-time nursing career into a full-time coaching career. Her deep authenticity, vulnerability and beautiful articulation of her challenges reminds us all that our humanness teaches us and transforms our soul.
In this episode, Chrissy and I discuss how her mom’s unexpected health challenges and surgery recovery further assisted her desire to be present for her parents, how her dream to move out of her time-demanding nursing career and into a more aligned purpose seemed to be off-kilter, and… we get down into some practical observations about money.
Chrissy experienced a good cry, release of emotion and processed guilt she felt from her past with her mom because by contrast today, the overwhelming amount of love she feels for her and desire to give to her, is beautiful and compassionate.
I felt Chrissy was reminded how beautifully her relationship with her mom is growing, blooming, and blossoming into something new.
Talking to Chrissy had me reflecting on my own relationship with my mom, my childhood, my relationship with my daughter and some of the similar challenges we’ve faced on this life journey so far.
This episode is a good reminder that when life picks up and whirlwinds around us, even if it’s not what we want initially, we can still remain present, centered, and shift our focus to what’s right in front of us. Because much of our purpose is what’s right in front of us in all the “now” moments… not always in the “though castles” the ego builds up.
Through this session Chrissy discovers that she is already doing what is most important to her at this time in her life, which is working towards freedom of her time, helping her family in every way she can, and stepping foot into that beautiful beach house…which she is working towards each and every day.
Talking to Chrissy was a great reminder that when we remain centered and calm when life seems to turn upside down or tilts a bit, we find our true stability, sturdiness and pillar-like energetic structure gently standing strong amongst the waves. And this is where our purpose shines. When we no longer allow outside events to dictate how we feel or behave on the inside, we step off the emotional roller coaster and start to master our lives from the inside out.
I hope Chrissy saw that she is doing her absolute best given her current time restrictions and that although the process is slower than she wants, divine timing and divine intervention continue to play a part in her life experience, unfolding just for her and those she loves. - Lora Perry
