TikTok Ban? Use Your Time Wisely #28
Welcome to Your Weekly SoulPreneur Tip + SoulPreneur Academy News!
The entire purpose of using social media in business and marketing is to treat it as a TOOLâa tool to help others find you, learn about what you offer, and connect with you. Social media isnât a place to "nurture" prospective clients; itâs a place to find them, attract their attention, and invite them into your world. This includes TikTok.
This means the purpose of posting is to offer people an opportunity to step off the platform and into your email list, your community, or a space where you can nurture them regularly.
I love what Gary Vee saidâsomething I wholeheartedly agree with: âSocial Media is being replaced as Interest Media.â I took this to mean that the âsocialâ aspect of these platforms isnât as appealing as it used to be. Instead, people are finding their interests and jumping into them from the platforms rather than lingering for social purposes. This shift makes it easier for us to invite our audience into our world effortlessly.
There are many ways to do this, of courseâthrough âlead magnetsâ like video lessons, workshops, communities, challenges, e-books, or educational PDFs. The topic of lead magnets is a whole other discussion, but as you can see, the Call to Action is essential. Itâs how you guide prospects off the platforms and into a space where they can be nurtured, experience continued education, and decide if what you offer is the right next step, solution, or the right fit for them.
So, what can you do about the potential TikTok Ban in the U.S. scheduled for January 19, 2025?
- Post. Keep posting. No one knows for sure if the ban will go through - yet, so donât stop posting because of the unknown.
- Take full advantage of the next 4 weeks. If the ban happens, use this time wisely. Every post counts.
- Invite your audience to your other social media platform(s) through your link in bio.
- Include a Call to Action (CTA) that offers a small solutionâlike a lead magnetâso they can learn more about what you do and get them into your email list.
- Utilize TikTok as a user and join communities outside of TikTok that other creators are offering. You never know what relationships are working their way towards you.
Remember, all is for the highest good, always. I know many individuals who have primary audiences and income through a variety of platformsânot just TikTok. No matter what happens, there are always other options that will prove successful for you and your business.

The tools you decide to use in your business and marketing (such as social media platforms and others) will change and evolve just as we do.
Remember that social media/interest media is just 1 of these effective tools we get to choose from. It's only 1 way we get to reach other people.
The important part is that you have the right tools that work for you and when change calls, to effortlessly and swiftly find another that works well and is easy for you to use.
We can choose to make it whatever experience we want it to be, so we may as well choose to make it a good one.
