Did you know that we either adopt a criterion of who we think we should be, are told who we should be (and believe or accept it), or we make it up all for ourselves based on many factors, such as:

Who we are around while we are growing and learning to navigate life...
What we are/were witnessing from those who were close to us...
Who or what someone else wants you to be...
Who "should" you be, how "should" you act?
What "should" you accomplish?

Shoulds, as I say, are always dead ends.

All the criteria of who we "think we should be" are temporary and all made up, like a story we tell ourselves.

There is nothing we should do. There is no one we should be.

There is only who we already are. Who you already are.

This week, what if you decided to be fascinated by who you are instead who you think you should be?

My Final Words This Week…

My secret discovery after all of the years of trying to be who others have told me I am, or should be - or who we decided we "need" to be...

is that in doing so...

We move more away from authenticity. We actually move further away from ourselves because we are looking in the wrong place.

And we end up moving into struggle. Why? Because the desire to be "somebody" is what makes the game of success and authentic living so difficult. You already are somebody. You just have to know where to look.
